Antipasto skewers = easiest appetizer EVER.
Hiya! presently I’m sitting on the train, zipping my manner toward ny, and dreaming approximately the bagel I’m going to eat whilst i am getting there. After binge looking the first two seasons of Mozart within the jungle (everybody else loving that show?!), I’m eager to stretch my legs, discover the snowy metropolis streets, and devour as much as feasible. I bet that ultimate part changed into a given, huh?
O.k., all the way down to enterprise! nowadays I’m sharing with you one of my preferred “hardly ever a recipe” recipes. if you’re exciting for the Superbowl (or any event, truely), those skewers are here to help! They’re insanely smooth to gather, and can be made as much as four hours earlier.
let’s speak about adaptions!
These skewers are very adaptable. in case you don’t love mozzarella cheese, you may sub in cubed cheddar, pepper jack, or, properly, you get the factor! no longer fan of olives? depart them out. Don’t like basil? Use child greens alternatively. The alternatives are limitless. if you’re serving a huge crowd, feel free to double this recipe. Feeding a smaller crowd? Halve the recipe!
Such a lot of flavors and textures on one stick… It’s no marvel humans eat these infants!!!
INGREDIENTS:
- 20 long wooden skewers
- (1) 9 ounce package cheese tortellini
- 1/2 cup zesty Italian salad dressing
- 1/2 teaspoon tabasco sauce (optional, but it adds a nice kick)
- 40 olives (I used Kalamata but any kind you enjoy will work)
- 40 grape tomatoes
- 40 thin slices Genoa salami
- 20 baby mozzarella balls
- 40 pieces basil, torn
- 20 pieces chopped artichoke hearts
INSTRUCTIONS:
- cook tortellini according to package instructions; drain and speedy rinse in cold water. In a large resealable plastic bag, integrate the tortellini with salad dressing and hot sauce, seal the bag, and flip it around a few times to coat; refrigerate for at least 15 mins and up to 4 hours.
- when prepared to gather, drain and discard any last marinade.
- For each skewer, I threaded an olive, tomato, basil, tortellini, basil, folded salami slice, mozzarella ball, tortellini, basil, folded salami piece, artichoke coronary heart, tomato, olive. you can switch up the association if you like, but I find this order is visually appealing and scrumptious.
